I am so excited to be participating in the 2017 CHOC Walk in the Park at the Disneyland Resort on August 27th to raise funds for CHOC Children's Hospital! This is my third year walking for CHOC. The first year, I joined in support of Team Ting: close friends whose daughter greatly benefited from the services provided by doctors and nurses when she decided to enter the world a tad too early. The second year, I decided I was also walking for myself circa 1980-something (see profile pic), who knew first hand how hospital stays and subsequent repeated visits can be overwhelming when a place isn't built for a child. This year, I'm still walking for all of the above, plus a recent addition to my family: a nephew who had his own brief visit to the NICU. Whether it's the pediatric/neonatal unit of a regional hospital, or the specialized care of a children's hospital, our support is essential in keeping these invaluable places running. The fundraising efforts of the CHOC Walk make an immediate impact on families going through the most challenging time in their lives. CHOC provides the highest level of care not only to patients, but to the siblings, parents, and extended family that make up their critical support teams. This year, I joined the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team for the 2017 CHOC Walk in the Park, but you can sign up on your own, or join a different team. We get to wander around the park, meet characters along the way, and can stick around afterwards to enjoy the day :) If you'd rather not walk, or aren't local, you can register as a "Sleeping Bear" and receive CHOC Walk incentives.
